Removal of hemangiomas- capillaries of the face

Laser removal of hemangiomas is the perfect way to treat these tumours. They occur in all people, usually increasing in number with age.

Hemangiomas are tufts of extra blood vessels that commonly occur in children. It is characterized by an increased number of vessels. About 80% of hemangiomas occur in the face and neck.

The most common in people and children of all ages are capillary hemangiomas. They consist of one or more central vessels and multiple branches.

Hemangiomas are commonly treated by Nd: YAG (1064 nm) laser. The intervention is quick and painless. Radiation in this type of lasers allows to effectively affect the dilated capillaries of the face. The laser treatment of unaesthetic blood vessels with a Nd: YAG laser delivers a light pulse whose energy is absorbed by the hemoglobin of the blood. It is transformed into heat, causing coagulation of blood and a kind of “welding” on the walls of the unwanted blood vessel, which leads to its destruction. Blood flow is redirected to veins located deeper below the surface of the skin.

The procedure is painless. The duration depends on the size of the treated area and the number of capillaries. The number of procedures depends on the type, color, size and configuration of the hemangiomas. Often up to two procedures are sufficient, the second being performed at the earliest after 3-4 weeks.
